There’s this moment of pure creative abandon when process and craft crystallize into a greater question - only to be answered by daring to seek out danger, or rather, curiosities in our work. That is the artist I strive to be. A fearless actor who looks to deepen my understanding of the world around me; my understanding of the social landscape I participate in. The nucleus of my work comes from process. I love learning about the world of a film; a play - excavating the sediment from all the nooks and crannies of the text - then collectively exploring that world in the spirit of collaboration. I pledge to always bring my truth and my commitment to the work. I want to continue growing as an artist, and I sometimes think that growth can only come from recognizing challenges in the hopes of rewriting them. I think that’s ultimately why I love this work so much; it’s a puzzle asking to be solved. We extend our nets as far as they can stretch only to share what we found with an audience. Maybe they’ll like it, maybe they won’t but at least we’ve participated in an exchange that goes beyond us.
All of this to say, it is my wish to wake up the questions that foster an appetite to play; to discover something special and then share it.
